Executive Council

The University of Alberta Panhellenic Council preserves the high standards of National Panhellenic Conference sororities and women’s fraternities. The object of the Panhellenic Council is to develop and maintain fraternity life and interfraternity relations at a high level of accomplishment, and in doing so:

  • Consider the goals and ideals of member groups as continually applicable to campus and personal life;

  • Promote superior scholarship and intellectual development;

  • Cooperate with member women’s sororities and the university administration to maintain high social and moral standards;

  • Act in accordance with National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Unanimous Agreements, policies and best practices;

  • Act in accordance with such rules established by the Panhellenic Council as to not violate the sovereignty, rights and privileges of member sororities.

In summary, the executive council represents the four international Sororities on campus and keeps them accountable. The council helps bring all the Chapters together by organizing events and running Formal Recruitment every Fall. The women that make up this council exemplify the values of scholarship, service, and sisterhood, and are unbiased representatives of all four UAlberta Sororities.

Sarah loves visiting both the mountains and the ocean (represented by two tattoos she has), and hopes to live somewhere closer to them one day!

Vice President Internal Rachel Stefaniuk

Rachel is excited to be serving on the Panhellenic Council this year as VP Internal, since having fostered a love for all things Panhellenic in her time as a Junior member under VP Judicial the year prior! She is currently entering her fourth year of studying Biological Sciences and Anthropology and dreams of attending Medical School in the near future, and becoming a rural family physician! Her passions include anything outdoors, iced peach tea and laughing till she cries (usually because of something funny her sisters share). Some of her loves outside of studying in Law library and her Panhellenic sisters include: travelling all the corners of the world, flying planes and serving her community through volunteer organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and UAlberta Ambassadors!

She's more than excited to be taking on the role of VP External for Fall 2018! Most of Selen's time is spent in her studio working on design projects, but you can also find her at Transcend Coffee on 109th, riding her bike around town, or petting a good dog (n.b. all dogs are good dogs).
