The University of Alberta Panhellenic Council preserves the high standards of National Panhellenic Conference sororities and women’s fraternities. The object of the Panhellenic Council is to develop and maintain fraternity life and interfraternity relations at a high level of accomplishment, and in doing so:
Consider the goals and ideals of member groups as continually applicable to campus and personal life;
Promote superior scholarship and intellectual development;
Cooperate with member women’s sororities and the university administration to maintain high social and moral standards;
Act in accordance with National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Unanimous Agreements, policies and best practices;
Act in accordance with such rules established by the Panhellenic Council as to not violate the sovereignty, rights and privileges of member sororities.
In summary, the executive council represents the four international Sororities on campus and keeps them accountable. The council helps bring all the Chapters together by organizing events and running Formal Recruitment every Fall. The women that make up this council exemplify the values of scholarship, service, and sisterhood, and are unbiased representatives of all four UAlberta Sororities.
